Merry xmas! I've reverse engineered the current authentication mechanism used by Mac's "Screen Sharing" support. It uses 2048-bit RSA keys and 128-bit AES. I'm pretty sure the AES key is used later on for sending keystrokes etc, but image data is sent in the plain.
