The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is changing how employees build software, automate workflows, and interact with enterprise data. That shift is creating new security challenges for organizations trying to balance innovation with risk management. Pluto Security is now emerging from stealth with $42 million in total funding, multi-million-dollar annual recurring revenue, more than 1 million endpoints secured globally, and a customer base of over 40 enterprises.

Led by CEO and co-founder Shahar Bahat, Pluto is developing a security layer for the AI workspace. The company focuses on giving enterprises visibility, contextual risk assessment, and real-time control over the AI tools employees use, the supply chains surrounding those tools, and the applications, agents, and automations employees create.

A $42 Million Funding Milestone

Pluto's announcement includes an approximately $34 million financing round led by Jump Capital, bringing its total funding to $42 million. The company's seed round was led by TLV Partners, with participation from additional investors.

The funding arrives as enterprises increasingly incorporate AI tools into everyday operations. Rather than treating these tools solely as software applications to approve or block, Pluto aims to help security teams understand how employees use them and assess the risks associated with that activity.

“Security has traditionally been built around stopping things, but that model breaks down when the business is moving faster than security can evaluate every new tool,” said Bahat.

She explained that Pluto's approach centers on understanding user intent and giving security teams enough context to enable work safely. According to Bahat, the company has incorporated that philosophy into its product development and its engagement with the security community.

Pluto reports that it has reached multi-million-dollar ARR in less than a year. Its customers include Oscar Health, Workato, Sixt, AlphaSense, and Fortune 500 organizations, providing an indication of the enterprise demand the company says it is seeing.

Building Security Around the AI Workspace

AI coding assistants and application-building platforms are expanding software development beyond traditional engineering teams. Tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cowork, Lovable, and Base44 allow employees to create applications, agents, automations, and workflows without relying exclusively on conventional development processes.

That accessibility introduces a broader security challenge. Each tool can interact with additional components, including skills, extensions, packages, MCPs, models, and other dependencies. Pluto says employees across its customer base use hundreds of supply chain components while building thousands of applications.

The company's platform combines endpoint visibility, contextual analysis, and real-time enforcement. Security teams can use these capabilities to block malicious skills, restrict unsafe agent actions, and prevent access to sensitive data or credentials without unnecessarily interrupting legitimate work.

The objective is to give organizations a clearer picture of activity across the AI workspace while retaining the ability to intervene when behavior presents a risk.

Pluto is also building its business through security research, practitioner resources, and community tools. One example is Plutonium, a free AI supply chain security hub powered by the company's proprietary RisksDB.

The resource helps security professionals assess risks across AI supply chain components, including skills and extensions. Pluto says thousands of security professionals are already using and contributing to Plutonium.

Saaya Pal, a partner at Jump Capital, highlighted this approach when explaining the investment decision.

“The clearest example is Plutonium, their AI risk database — there was no good public data on what AI tools are actually doing inside enterprises, so the team built it and gave part of it away,” Pal said. “Hundreds of practitioners use it every week, and most of Pluto's pipeline now walks in the door.”

Pal added that the company's distribution strategy was a key reason Jump Capital led the round. The approach combines freely accessible resources with a commercial security platform, giving practitioners a way to explore emerging risks before evaluating enterprise solutions.

The Team Behind Pluto's Expansion

Bahat founded Pluto alongside Tal Ofer Regev and Gil Maman. The three founders bring cybersecurity experience spanning Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, Bridgecrew, and Israel's Unit 8200.

Bahat previously held senior cybersecurity leadership roles at Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks and is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree. Regev previously served as vice president of research and development at Palo Alto Networks, where he managed more than 150 people. Maman spent more than six years in Israeli Military Intelligence in technical leadership roles spanning advanced cyber research and security engineering.

The company has grown to more than 50 employees across the United States and Israel. Its investors include Jump Capital, TLV Partners, Skinos, AlphaDrive Ventures, Ansa Capital, MTF, and several individual investors with backgrounds in cybersecurity and technology.

What Comes Next for AI Workspace Security

Pluto plans to use the new capital to continue investing in its product, research, and U.S. expansion as the AI supply chain evolves. Rona Segev, co-founder and managing partner at TLV Partners, said the company's approach offers security teams a way to understand AI activity and respond precisely rather than simply block innovation.

As employees gain access to increasingly capable AI tools, enterprises will need to evaluate not only the applications they approve but also the dependencies and actions those tools introduce. Pluto's emergence from stealth, funding milestone, and reported enterprise traction position it to pursue that expanding market.
