Indian manufacturer Tata Electronics has confirmed a cybersecurity incident affecting some of its systems, weeks after a cybercrime group claimed to have stolen confidential documents belonging to the company's clients.

In a statement to Recorded Future News, Tata Electronics said it detected the breach "a few weeks ago" and has since taken measures to address the incident.

"The incident has had no impact on operations across businesses, which remain unaffected," the company said.

The disclosure follows claims by the extortion group World Leaks that it obtained and published confidential files allegedly stolen from Tata Electronics. The authenticity of the data has not been independently verified.

Samples reviewed by researchers indicate that the leaked material may include Apple supplier specifications and Tesla-related manufacturing documents. Tata Electronics declined to comment on the scope of the breach, whether any data was stolen, or whether it had received a ransom demand. Apple and Tesla did not respond to requests for comment.

Tata Electronics serves as a supplier to several global technology firms. The company manufactures components for Apple products and assembles some iPhone models in India, according to industry reports. Its parent company has also announced partnerships with Tesla, Qualcomm and Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML.

The breach is the latest attack linked to World Leaks, a cybercriminal operation that emerged in early 2025 after rebranding from the Hunters International ransomware group. World Leaks has focused primarily on data theft and extortion, threatening to publish stolen information rather than encrypting victims' systems.

The group has targeted organizations across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, consumer services, and energy. While many of its victims are based in the United States, World Leaks has also claimed attacks against organizations in Europe, India, and Canada.
