Hi all! Im a screenwriter currently working on a new screenplay with a hacking scene, looking for advice to make it realistic.

The film is part screen capture movie, and the scene has two characters who have to get access to an encrypted USB drive.

I am essentially looking for advice as to how to make this scene play out believably on screen, as I know very little about “hacking” in any real life sense.

Since it’s going to be screen capture for the scene, Im looking specifically for a set of realistic feeling console commands that the hacker character can input while running some “custom program” he’s created (if that seems feasible). If there are real life examples of a home brew mac os software that does this kind of thing, those could be useful as well for looking at interface, functionality, etc.

Any advice or links to relevant information would be greatly appreciated!
