Product Update: Version 4.2
We’re wrapping up the year with one last release, adding a few more goodies. 4.2 comes with some notable feature improvements. The Connectivity add-on now makes it easier to manage ports with editable port name templates and bulk editing capabilities. Plus, we’ve introduced new Bulk Actions for adding and editing network ports. And the Linux version Data Collector got even better – it now supports AES256 for SNMPv3 discovery and monitoring. We’ve also made some behind-the-scenes tweaks to boost performance and optimize resource usage.
Connectivity Add-on: Port Management
We’ve made some awesome improvements to port management:
- You can now edit the port name template when adding new ports from the Information -> Network Ports page.
- The port name template is also editable when adding new ports from the Layout page of network devices and patch panels.
- We’ve made it easier to update port names in bulk from the Information -> Network Ports page, so you can align them with your internal or manufacturer port naming conventions.
- Plus, you can now delete ports in bulk from the Layout page of network devices and patch panels.
Other Enhancements
New Bulk Actions
We’ve added Bulk Actions for:
- Add network ports
- Edit network ports
Data Collector AES256 Compatibility
We’ve made enhancements to the Linux version of the Data Collector to boost compatibility with AES256 for SNMPv3 discovery and monitoring. We’ve also added various internal optimizations to amp up performance and optimize resource usage.
Miscellaneous
- Discovery state has been added to the Asset -> Information -> Properties page. This will allow users to tell the source of the asset and if has been discovered or manually added
- Dell iDRAC9 SNMP discovery will add sensors for system run time, power supply current and power supply redundancy
- BIOS version has been added to standard asset properties and will be automatically populated if the asset is discovered
Notable Bug Fixes
- AS-13845 Fixed a bug that allowed users to edit shelves with incorrect start and end rack-u location
- AS-13969 Fixed a bug that caused an API error when setting the connector type of a patch panel port
- AS-13409 Fixed a bug that caused the browser alert to not be displayed when closing a tab with unsaved changes
