I bought a SKYDROID 5.8G DUAL RECEIVER from Aliexpress and decided to test it on Linux and Android:
It was detected automatically on Linux:
new high-speed USB device number 9 using xhci_hcd
New USB device found, idVendor=18ec, idProduct=5850, bcdDevice= 1.00
Product: USB2.0 PC CAMERA
Manufacturer: ARKMICRO
Found UVC 1.00 device USB2.0 PC CAMERA (18ec:5850)
UVC non compliance - GET_DEF(PROBE) not supported. Enabling workaround
Then I opened the program guvcview and selected the camera “USB2.0 PC CAMERA”, it displayed some noise image in the screen. Then I pressed the button over the label USB in the SKYDROID receiver and it started to sweep all the frequencies to find the image. Then it automatically found my camera:
I didn’t test it yet with the cheese program, but I think it will work fine too!
Next I decided to test it on Android.
He put the link to the USB Camera application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shenyaocn.android.usbcamera
I want to find later an open-source alternative app for Android that works with SKYDROID.
You can switch the camera transmission frequency using the button that come above the 7-segment display. These are the possible frequencies:
That’s all folks!!!
